Last week marked an incredible moment in history: Marriage equality is now legal in all 50 of the United States.

Having the choice to live your life as you chose has always been the foundation of the American Dream. From that standpoint,I never really understood why anyone had a problem with same sex couples getting married.

Because “Love is Love” ~ right?

When I started designing wedding bands, one of my first projects was designing a set of “partnership rings” for a gay couple. At the time, they couldn’t officially marry.

We’ve come a long way!

Today, I just want to pay tribute to one of my favorite couples who just happen to be two women…

Enter Briana and Liz…

The first time I met Briana was in my yoga class. I was teaching at Equinox and, as I remember, I taught her to transition from bakasana to chataranga (sanskrit for floating from crow pose to a push up).

We became fast friends because she had such a great spirit and energy about her. When I met her girlfriend, Liz, for the first time, I remember thinking they were such an awesome couple. They complimented each other so well.

So It only made sense that they ended up getting engaged. Liz told me that she just popped the question on the subway one day.

As you can feel from the picture, Briana and Liz have great energy together. When they asked me to design wedding bands for them, I was beyond thrilled because they are precisely the type of people I love working with, happy, hopeful and positive.

Soon after they got engaged, they bought a house in upstate New York. Sadly, I didn’t get to see Briana in yoga as much anymore. But they are living the dream, loving each other and enjoying their lives together.

Here is a bit more about what they said about working with me..

When my partner and I decided to get married, we quickly went  to Tracy’s site. We loved some of the work she’s done so we immediately set up a meeting. Her personal approach was great, because she helped us get really clear on what we wanted. During the process, she made sure we were informed informed about what was happening and even sent us pictures along the way!

We loved the rings when we saw them! They came out better than we imagined. We both felt taken care of because Tracy was present and engaged and wanted to make sure that post delivery our rings fit well. She is deeply committed to her clients and her art. We would highly recommend Tracy!
