My Favorite Accessory Trends From NYFW Spring 2014
I know that for the most part taking note of all the amazing outfits perfectly put together for New York Fashion Week is every girl’s favorite part to watch, but of course for me what I’m always in love with is the jewelry that ties together the whole outfit.
The accessory trends on the runways for the Spring 2014 season were beyond turning classics like black, white, and gold, wrapped in a touch of bohemian chic dreams into a reality. Well known fashion designers such as Balenciaga, Marc Jacobs, Lanvin, Ferragamo, and even all of New York’s best fashion bloggers who also include the fashion industry’s most watched models walking the streets off duty such as Karlie Kloss, and her best friend Jourdan Dunn all showcased the many different twists and styles to come.
Strutting down the runways of Nina Ricci and Versace, you can spot gold hanging perfectly with layers on layers of the necks of beautiful models. A great mix of tremendous amounts of thick cuffs bring back the essence of some inspirations of the elegance of Versailles, along side the runways channeling looks from the early 90’s.
As a Spring 2014 staple, Oscar De La Renta showcased some of the most luxurious jewels consisting of long earrings and delicate necklaces. I can see the fancy pieces combined with the gorgeous gowns walking down the Oscar’s red carpet- always a favorite of mine! The details I saw more of in the collection were perfectly shaped flower gems in subtle shades of green and orange, something that always brings me back to what you can find in some of my absolute favorite necklaces, especially pieces in my Special Occasion designs, such as my blue topaz pendant.
Anna Sui who with a little more 60’s inspiration in her collection, also has more vibrant colors. It’s all completely opposite of the high contrast to the black and white taking over this season’s many collections. Consisting of large pendants and long necklaces, these accessories are easily a modern day bohemian chic.
In completion to yet another great New York Fashion Week, I am more inspired and ready for the Spring. You can say that my Heirloom Redesign collection is the perfect mix of the classic and what we now are adding to our trends list.
