My Top 10 Favorite Looks from the Met Gala 2014

My Top 10 Favorite Looks from the Met Gala 2014 Tracy Matthews.png

I always look forward to the Met Gala – one of the only red carpets set in warm weather (watching celebrities freeze to death isn’t always the most glamorous)! This year’s Met Gala paid tribute to legendary designer Charles James, and the red carpet certainly took hints from his creativity. So many dresses were structurally unique, and the perfect inspiration for some spring / summer jewelry! It was a tough choice, but I’ve rounded up my top 10 favorite looks below!

Lupita Nyong’o in Prada

With her acting career on the rise, Lupita is this year’s it-girl, and her look at the Met Gala certainly disappoint. Her Prada dress seems to be simply an intricate combination of dress and jewelry, and certainly shows she’s not afraid to be bold! The emerald green is just gorgeous, and her jewelry is stunning! (I love it even though many scoffed at this look)!

Emma Stone in Thakoon

Emma stone made a pretty bold statement with the a trendy Thakoon crop top and maxi skirt mix. She pulls it together with a few key silver and white gold accessories, and Thakoon truly took a ready-to-wear trend to the black-tie level!

Blake Lively in Gucci Première

Blake Lively truly captured the old Hollywood, 1930’s glamour and luxury the Met Gala revered Charles James for. Lively is ALWAYS stunning, but I personally think she’s at her best with those luxurious retro waves and large divine rings.

Karolina Kurkova in Marchesa

This was one of the most original looks on the red carpet, and I absolutely adored it. Karolina’s look is so unique and creative, yet so classic. The deep navy and immaculate floral print are pulled together perfectly with a stunning diamond necklace and a subtle off-the-shoulder neckline. To die for!

Marion Cotillard in Dior

In case you didn’t notice, Marion is wearing ONE SINGLE EARRING and completely pulls it off! Not only is her gown gorgeous, but this lone-earring statement has people talking. What do you think? Would you ever try it, off the red carpet?

Zooey Deschanel in Tommy Hilfiger

Tommy Hilfiger is an artist who knows how to do navy and white, and Zooey Deschanel couldn’t be more perfect of a canvas! That gorgeous velvet neckline perfectly compliments her jaw-dropping necklace. Love it!

Gabrielle Union in Prada

Looks like Thakoon has some competition in the two-piece department! What truly makes Gabrielle’s Prada dress special is the reflective layers scattered throughout her vintage inspired feathered skirt. Her droplet earrings compliment the a-line skirt, and pull the whole look together!

Rihanna in Stella McCartney

Just look at that collar! Those rings! Out of all the crop tops and two-pieces on the carpet, this one just might be my favorite. I’m a sucker for good statement jewelry, and Rihanna knocked this one out of the park – er – Met!

Fabiola Beracasa in Rodarte

Fabiola brought such luxury with her satin dress and shawl, her bright color choice totally worked. She made great jewelry choices, and I’m particularly a fan of that beautiful bracelet.

Gisele Bundchen in Balenciaga

I just HAD to add Gisele onto the list. What’s not to love? Impeccable intricate designs by Balenciaga and amazing jewelry choice (just look at those earrings!), I can’t think of a more perfect look!
